This weeks RC-44 Regatta showcased some nice speed and really exciting racing. I filled in for Petra, who was away for the day, as race director this week. The sims continued their great run of smooth performance as we had no crashes due to regions.

We ran three races, one each on North Sea Manta, North Sea WC-Rch, and North Sea Olympic Course (Long). The wind was a little gusty with a shift and the Wildwind RC-44’s responded well. Racing was surely close as there wasn’t much spread in the fleet during each race. The pack was so close that the finish for the second race was a nice photo finish between Alexandre and Cor.

Race Note:
Burton and Joshua finished tied with 17 points. As they both have duplicate finishes, Rule A8.2 of Guidance on Scoring under Appendix A to the Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:

Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boats’ scores in the next-to-last race and so on until all ties are broken. These scores shall be used even if some of them are excluded scores.
