Our first Blue Lagoon Marina Regatta of April saw a nice turnout with some smooth sailing. Marcy, the owner of Blue Lagoon Marina, also chipped in L$1000 for first place in the small boat race. The small boat race also featured a slightly different wind, WSW (250°) instead of our usual SW (225°), which it returned to for the big boat race.

The small boat fleet was really diverse this week, made up of three bandit IF’s, a Quest Melges-24, a Quest 2M, a Nacra 17, a Wildwind DG-14, a Trudeau Patchogue II, a Trudeau T-12, and a Shields Class. The fleet spread itself out pretty well although Cole and Arya were close through out the race.

The big boat fleet was made up of two ACA33’s, two Trudeau 12 Metre’s, two One Design 65’s, and an Open 60. Racing was neck and neck between Makhno, Arya and Beane throughout.

Race Director: Petra

Race 1: North Sea Olympic Long – Wind: WSW (250°) 18kts

Congratulations to Carlota, Mahkno, and Rosie on their podium finishes. Carlota received the L$1000 first place reward from Marcy and all three received trophy cups.

Race 2: North Sea Outer Inner Loop Revision 1 – Wind: SW (225°) 18kts

Congratulations to Makhno and Arya on their podium finishes with me. All of us received trophy cups as well.

Race Note: Cole was disqualified for failing to give room to an inside boat in the mark zone [Rule 18.2(a)].

  1. We had some SL weirdness. Palani and I both saw lots of boats flying around before the start.

Well done to Carlota for the in in the 1st race, and thanks to Marcy from the BLM for giving the prize.

Well done to all the sailors. Thanks to Cryptic for compiling and presenting the results.
